How to enter

The contest is divided into two submission groups. Participants must be holders of a valid HKID card. Entries submitted must be original and have not previously been used for participating or awarded in any photo contest.

Group Requirements

Open Group

  • Participants must be aged 18 or above^.
  • Participants must be a Sino Club member or register as a Sino Club member when submitting their work.
  • Submitted work can be taken with a digital camera or mobile devices (e.g. mobile phone and tablet). Only digital files are accepted.

Student Group

  • Participants must be full-time students of Hong Kong aged 12–25^.
  • Participants 18 years old or above must be a Sino Club member or register as a Sino Club member when submitting their works.
  • Submitted work can be taken with a digital camera or mobile devices (e.g. mobile phone and tablet). Only digital files are accepted.

Submission Category

Participants can only participate in one group, submitting a maximum of one entry for each category (i.e. Green Living, Innovative Design, and Community Spirits).

Green Living

Respecting our relationship with nature and with one another, we create environments that nurture sustainability and balance.

Innovative Design

Imagining possibilities, we celebrate originality, function and craftsmanship as we strive to innovate and inspire.

Community Spirit

Remembering our roles in society, we build bonds and friendships with all around us while honouring our heritage, knowledge and identity.

For each category, a champion, first-runner up, second-runner up will be selected, and 12 “Most Liked” works will be chosen by voters

Jeffrey Poon’s 20-year professional experience spans both digital and film photography. Currently teaching photography at Maple Club and working as a freelance commercial photographer, he enjoys taking landscape photographs on his travels. He also likes exploring new sights and trying new angles for popular landscapes. He generously shares these scenic places with amateur photographers in the hope of making landscape photography more popular in Hong Kong.

In recent years, Jeffrey’s works have been recognised in several local and international photography awards including the “2018 WMO Calendar Photography Competition” and the “National Geographic Wheelock Youth Photo Competition 2017”.

Winnie Yeung is a professional photographer based in Hong Kong. She has more than a decade of experience in photography, with a wide exposure in architectural and interior design photography, arts and culture, corporate photography, and studio shooting.

Winnie started on the basics of photography in architecture and design, laid the foundation for her photographic and lighting skills, cultivated her artistic sense, and led her to the world of arts and culture. With such a solid architectural photography background, she is skilled at utilising her sense of space to portray the subject-background relationship, while applying the best composition and perspective. Winnie believes that visual images speak more powerfully than words.
